How to use UV flashlight leak detection of oil and gas

2016-02-17

As we all know, 395nm and 365nm UV flashlight is widely used, like glue curing, ink curing; money identification (RMB, USD, HKD, EUR, GBP); leaking risk check of air conditioning and the automobile circulation system; leaking risk check of special gas, oil and gas pipelines; testing the trace and blood for the police security, examining in the crime scene; exploratory tool of adventuring and outdoor hunting; antique appraisal; fluorescent reflective of special material etc.. So how do we use UV flashlight to check the oil and gas leaking? Mostly we use oil-soluble fluorescent to check the leaking, in a simple way.

1.    Put the Oil-soluble fluorescent into the fluid system, start the systemic circulation, fluorescent dyes are fast dissolved into the system with penetrate tol the leaking area. This process takes about 5-10 minutes (depending on the difference of   the temperature and oil).

2.    Using the invisible light (UVLED) to test the leaking part, It will be a strong yellow-white fluorescent in the leaking part, which is easy to be tested. This fluorescence is easily to be distinguished from the normal natural green fluorescent.

Soluble fluorescent can be used in any closed loop system, except for fuel system, lubrication system, hydraulic system, including turbo power system, pneumatic system, industrial piping and all kinds of industrial valves, interface leak.
